This past spring, we had the absolute pleasure of coordinating Alex & Tristan's vibrant engagement party at B.B. Lemon's stunning outdoor lawn space in Houston's trendy Heights neighborhood. A Love Story Rooted in Houston

B.B. Lemon holds a special place in Alex and Tristan's hearts – it's where they've shared many date nights, making it the perfect venue to celebrate their next chapter. But their love story with us began even earlier. Alex and I go way back from our days working together, and she always told Tristan that if he was going to propose, I needed to be involved in the planning. True to her word, I helped orchestrate his surprise proposal just two months before this engagement party under the magnificent Live Oak Tree at The Houstonian – a moment that was as magical as it sounds!

Day-of Coordination: Bringing Dreams to Life

This celebration showcased our Day of Coordination services perfectly. Alex had meticulously planned every detail, from vendor selection to event layout and design. My role was to handle the final planning meetings with vendors and ensure seamless execution on the day itself, making certain every element matched her beautiful vision.

Event Design: Fresh Elegance Meets Houston Charm

The design elements created a cohesive, Instagram-worthy aesthetic that perfectly captured the couple's personality:

Signature Venue Features

• B.B. Lemon's vintage wooden "lemonade stand" served as the DJ booth, where classic and upbeat love songs set the romantic mood
• The restaurant's iconic outdoor lawn provided the perfect backdrop for this intimate celebration

Color Palette & Decor

• Bright yellow umbrellas provided cheerful coverage over guest dining tables
• Elegant white hydrangeas arranged in tall tan woven basket vases created stunning centerpieces
• Black and white photos from the couple's proposal shoot at the oak tree added personal touches throughout the space
• The couple's custom green wedding monogram (A & T) appeared on everything from napkins to a beautifully painted Lamarca prosecco bottle to the entry monogram display with a white wooden ground easel sign filled with green and white florals

Balloon Artistry by Jenn

Balloons with Jenn transformed the space with their signature creations:

• Cabanas draped in green and white pearl chain balloons designated food and drink stations
• Balloon columns in gold, white, and green framed the entry hedges, creating the perfect photo backdrop
• Four large balloon stands featuring oversized white balloons topped with white paper fringe added whimsical height throughout the venue

Professional Rentals & Linens

Bright Event Rentals elevated the venue with:

• Specialty linens with umbrella holes for seamless table styling
• Green boxwood hedges strategically placed to enhance the lawn's natural beauty
• B.B. Lemon provided green gingham patterned tablecloths for food stations and cocktail tables, adding the perfect pop of complementary color

The menu perfectly balanced elegance with comfort, featuring:

• Pretzel bites served with beer cheese and mustard for that classic comfort food appeal

• Cajun chicken sandwiches showcasing Houston's love for bold flavors
